Decco

Packaging and transport of perishable commodities like fresh fruits is a big challenge in a country like India. As an Indian company, we at United Phosphorus have developed DECCO for the post-harvest system. For several decades, the farmers and the packers around the world have trusted DECCO. DECCO as the post-harvest product and its services of have processed countless billion pieces of citrus fruits, stone fruits, tropical fruits and vegetables.

What is DECCO?

DECCO means (the DECay COntrol) of fruits and vegetables. DECCO produces high quality coatings to be used on fruits and vegetables. The film of coating used on fruits and vegetables provides long lasting shine, controls shrinkage and dehydration, thereby making transportation easier for longer periods of time.
All the ingredients utilized in manufacturing DECCO are approved by the F.D.A, the EU and the P.F.A in India, as food grade materials.

The farmers invest a huge amount of money in the production of grains. It is very important that they get a proper price for their produce to improve the farm economy. We always talk about the pre-harvest concept about increasing grain yield. The data available with us show that almost 15% to 20% of the grain produced in our country is lost during storage due to the attack of store-grain pests. Therefore, it is very important to save the grains during storage from the attack of pests. We offer solution through QUICKPHOS.

Our brand `Uniphos Seeds` participates in the Cotton market with its new-age technology.

Advanta India Ltd., has just acquired the vegetables seeds business of Golden Seeds Pvt. Ltd., one of the top vegetables seeds companies in India. The products of Golden Seeds are well-known by their name "Golden" and "Vigro" brand among the vegetable farmers in India.

This gives Advanta a platform in the upcoming vegetables seed arena in the tropical markets of the world. Advanta's sweet corn and baby corn business will be combined with the vegetable seed business of Golden to create a vegetables seed business unit within Advanta which will take up growth strategies in this market segment.

Advanta India recently also acquired the vegetables seed business of Unicom Seeds Limited. The products of Unicorn are known by the brand names of "Grower's Choice" and "Prestige" among the vegetable farmers in India.

With this acquisition Advanta's platform in vegetable seeds will become stronger with added crops to its current vegetable product portfolio. With the added products like Melons and Cucumber from Unicorn, the combined vegetable product portfolio (Golden and Unicorn) will make Advanta a significant player in the Vegetable Seed Market.
